Las Hojas de Datos de FM Global se consolidan como uno de los materiales de referencia más importantes a nivel mundial para prevenir pérdidas materiales en propiedades.

– Transferred a reference to the wind load design for chimneys from FM Data Sheet 1-13, Chimneys.
– Modified external pressure coefficients, figures and roof zone areas for steep sloped roofs.

– Revised the Scope, 1.0, to clarify the intent is for Radio Frequency (RF) anechoic chambers and not acoustic anechoic chambers.
– Revised Section 2.3.3, Sole Protection of Chamber, to clarify the installation of sprinklers at the ceiling if the ceiling height exceeds 25 ft (7.6 m).
– Revised Section 2.3.4, Halocarbon or Inert Gas (Clean Agents) Fire Extinguishing Systems

 Interim revision. Changes include the following:

– Provided guidance and new information relative to liners and insulated ducts for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
– Provided guidance for high-pressure laminates (HPL) and high-performance building envelopes.

 Interim revision. Changes include the following:

– The guidelines for when sprinkler protection is recommended within ceiling pockets has been updated.
– Editorial changes have been introduced to better clarify the recommendations offered in this data sheet.

Earthquake Protection for Water-Based Fire Protection Systems

 Interim revision. Changes include the following:

– Modified four-way riser sway brace spacing guidance to align with NFPA 13 (Section 2.2.1.1.2.3).
– Modified “G” factor values for sway brace design to align with ASCE 7-2022 (Section 2.2.1.2.2).
– Made minor editorial changes.

Interim revision. Significant changes include:

– Added recommendations regarding the use of automated pump testing in Section 2.9.

Interim revision. Added new Section 2.4, Ignition Source Control. (Moved from FM Data Sheet 5-21 that was made obsolete.)

Halocarbon and Inert Gas (Clean Agent) Fire Extinguishing Systems

 Interim revision. The following changes were made:

– Revised Table 2.2.2.1-1 in Section 2.2.2, Minimum Design Concentrations.
– Revised Section 2.3.4, Nozzles, to update the terminology “silencers” to be FM Approved discharge nozzle for “acoustically sensitive environments” and included associated design parameters.

Foam Extinguishing Systems

 Interim revision. The following changes were made:

– Reformatted Section 2.1, Introduction, to add general recommendations for the inclusion of medium and high-expansion foam systems.
– Updated Section 2.6.4.17, Alternate Test Methods, to include test liquids for Planit Safe that are allowable for SFFF and AR-SFFF.
– Updated viscosity information in Sections 2.5.4 and 3.4.5 on the compatibility of SFFF and AR-SFFF concentrates for use with variable viscosity proportioners.

Transformers

 Interim revision. Changes include the following:

– Added new recommendation in Section 2.1.0 of dry-type condenser bushings for new installations.
– Added new recommendation in Section 2.1.4 for replacement strategy of critical transformers.
– Added new recommendation in Section 2.1.8 to provide spare condenser bushings as part of equipment breakdown spare for transformers rated 100 MVA and above.
– Clarified the guidance in Section 2.1.5 for on-line condition monitoring recommendations, including FM Approved monitoring systems.

DS 5-12

Electric AC Generators

 Interim revision. The following changes were made:

– Added guidance for evaluation of operators, specific to generator risk control.
– Revised guidance on high-pot electrical testing based on recent loss experience to recommend rewinding or replacement for generators with significant pre-existing conditions such as a history of vibration or issues with looseness.

DS 5-14

Telecommunications

 Interim revision. The following changes were made:

– Revised the Section 1.0, Scope, to clarify the intent for facilities with direct current (DC) power equipment that use switches and relays. Facilities that use Voice Over Internet Protocols (VOIP) electronic equipment should refer to FM Data Sheet 5-32, Data Centers and Related Facilities.
– Revised Section 2.1.4, Wind, to remove the reference to FM Data Sheet 1-8, Antenna Towers and Signs, made obsolete in April 2025.

DS 5-32

Data Centers and Related Facilities

 Interim revision. The following changes were made:

– Reference to FM Data Sheet 1-8, Antenna Towers and Signs, was removed; applicable recommendations were moved to FM Data Sheet 1-28, Wind Design.
– References to FM Data Sheet 1-45, Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, were removed.

Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage Systems

Interim revision. Changes include the addition of FM Approved off-gas detection and clarification of fire protection recommendations for outdoor containerized BESS.

 Interim revision. Changes include the following:

– Revised Section 2.2.3, Smoke Detectors, to include additional recommendations for duct detector location and interlocking. These recommendations are based upon FM Data Sheet 1-45, Air Conditioning and Ventilating Systems, that was made obsolete.

Semiconductor Fabrication Facilities

 This document has been completely revised. Significant changes include the following:

– Recommendations redundant to other FM Data Sheets were removed, including fire protection inspection and testing, control room protection and electric utility system studies.
– The recommendation to retain a consulting firm specializing in seismic design for seismic zones was removed, because it is a building code requirement in those areas.
– Recommendations related to sprinkler installation around ceiling obstructions for waffle-style ceilings were revised for clarity.
– A recommendation was added to provide a hard-wired interlock that automatically switches over the backup nitrogen.

 Interim revision. Significant changes include:

– Clarified scope in Section 1.0.
– Consolidated and revised belt width, requiring sprinklers installed beneath in Section 2.2.3.5.
– Clarified fire protection recommendations in Section 2.1.7 for conveyors entering a building or passing through a fire wall.
– Defined different conveyor types in Appendix A.
